At a young age Dr. Rogers was influenced by his father to pursue dentistry. Orthodontics became his choice as he became aware of the difference an improved profile and straight teeth made in the self-esteem of young people and adults alike.
A native of Augusta, Dr. Rogers, graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry, served as a Captain and general dentist in the U.S. Army Dental Corps before returning to the Medical College of Georgia to specialize in orthodontics.
Dr. Rogers is on the orthodontic faculty at the Georgia Health Sciences University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry) and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Looking for a way to improve the profiles of his patients, he pioneered his own Rogers Banded Herbst Appliance which he believes can produce near-perfect results. He is Past-President of the Georgia Dental Association and has served as President of many dental and orthodontic societies including President of the over 16,600 member American Association of Orthodontists in 2011-2012. Family has always been important to Dr. Rogers and his wife, Beth, who have four children and nine grandchildren. Running Marathons in all 50 states has become Dr. Rogers’ goal. He also enjoys traveling with his family, playing golf, and working with his dental board activities.
